The Bio.
Sean Fitzpatrick is a marketing director and consultant in the greater Portland, Maine area. He provides strategy and marketing program management for a range of clients in the technology and nonprofit sectors. He is currently serving as Marketing Director for the University of New England, Maine's largest private university. In addition to his experience at UNE, notable chapters from his twenty-plus-year career are eight years growing Los Angeles ad agency startup Strausberg, and six years as New England marketing director for global ENGO The Nature Conservancy.
Sean has experience in the higher education, tourism, restaurant, real estate, technology, transportation, and non-profit categories. He has directed development and implementation of successful branding and tactical initiatives for such brands as Marriott, AAA, Renaissance Hotels, Amtrak, Coldwell Banker, Hannaford and more.
As an experienced marketing director and strategist, Sean’s strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership. He thrives on finding clarity within complexity and meeting ambitious business goals. One success for software company Certify involved Sean securing a public relations partnership with Uber from which Certify enjoyed more than 300 print, web, radio and television placements in such outlets as MSNBC, Bloomberg, NPR's Marketplace and more.
In 2014 Sean was honored with two Hatch Awards from Boston Ad Club in recognition of The Nature Conservancy’s groundbreaking “Future of Nature” engagement campaign in the Boston market. This campaign combined out-of-home, radio, print, social and email promotion with events, resulting in more than 50 million brand impressions and thousands of acts of engagement for the world’s leading conservation organization.
Sean earned his Master of Science in Leadership from Golden Gate University and his B.A. in liberal studies from Excelsior College.
Sean spent his early 20s writing and performing music in California. He now lives in an old farmhouse in Freeport, Maine with his wife, two daughters, four chickens and partially feral cat. He serves enjoys running, paddling and hiking.
